My fourteenth federal election as a voter is my first in the electorate of Watson. As in 2004, 2007 and 2010 I am posting details of my vote on my blog. With some trepidation I decided as in 2010 to fill in all boxes below the line for the Senate - all 110 of them.
If the 2010 Federal election campaign was dismal, in 2013 it has seemed much worse. The binary choice of which major party to lead government for the next three years is not a comfortable one, even though for me there is one clear answer.
Today, July 16, is the 15th anniversary of the first edition of CricInfo365 - the daily news email service of CricInfo, then a joint venture with Direct Network Publishing (later 365Corp). I was its creator, editor, and in those early days, its full-time staff of one, and worked on about a thousand editions (through a name change to CricInfo Daily) until August 2001.

(This is a replication of an "About" page that was on my website in the early 2000s outlining my experience with Cricinfo. Some of these links, regrettably, no longer work.)
My Twitter list of media sources that I track for news about South Africa.
The direct link to this on the web is https://twitter.com/rickeyre/media-southafrica although I understand this is hard to pick up on some Twitter apps.
Note that I have included the official Twitter feed of President Jacob Zuma's office in this list.
(This was originally posted in June 2013 when Nelson Mandela was gravely ill in hospital. I have updated in on 6 December 2013 following news of his passing.)
All the excitement of the sixth Indian Premier League as encapsulated in tweets of the pilgrimage of the team bus from the hotel to the stadium... Storified.
A short presentation in the response to the dropping of four Australian cricketers for not providing short presentations.
There's nothing binding about the thoughts emanating from the MCC's World Cricket Committee. It's a group of eminent cricketers (and umpire) having a brainstorm twice a year, and that can't be a bad thing.
