My personal reflections and observations and viewing practices of the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games can be seen at Medium.
It has been coming for a while but Senator Brian Burston (PHON, NSW) has blocked me from commenting or reacting on his official Facebook page.
He has every right to do this, of course, but I think I have been removed posting too much dissenting opinion in the comments, too much literate reasoned dissent, too much polite dissent.
In short, I have polluted the wall-to-wall cheerleading of the devoted One Nation faithful.
My first regular-season NRL game since 2013. Canberra defeated South Sydney 32-18 at ANZ Stadium. A mostly one-sided game, a soul-less experience in front of barely nine thousand spectators. I was there gratis as part of my GWS Giants membership, and sadly it was worth every penny.
Eighth-placed Sydney Swans beat second-placed GWS Giants 14-12 (96) to 12-11 (83).

A double header of Bluebags at Henson Park on Saturday July 8 2017.
Sitting in the freezing cold all evening and nobody won. Yet another exhilirating thriller involving the GWS Giants.
At two hours and nineteen minutes plus intermission, "Sachin: A Billion Dreams" never drags, although it probably does not warrant a place on the top shelf of sporting documentaries. A love letter to be sure, but a well-crafted one.
I never met the late Mark Colvin in person but, like many people, I had a number of conversations with him on Twitter over the years. A wonderfully knowledgable and witty person who is being missed by so many people today.
