Ridiculous statement of the week

As I noted a few weeks ago, John Winston Howard has defended the rights of people to say ridiculous things. Within his own party's ranks there have been many examples in and out of parliament this week (Julie Bishop's supernanny impersonation being one standout), but this week's winner has to be His Honourable Rodentness himself, for this remark in his short press release paying tribute to the late Billy Thorpe:

"Perhaps, though, his fans will remember him for one thing above all else: the ear-splitting volume of his concerts..."
