America has a Constitution that was a world-leader when it was first drafted... over 235 years ago. Its Constitution has many features which are no longer fit for purpose and have, along with many imperfect laws and an ad hoc system of multiple jurisdictions, allowed accumulating structural misuse and abuse. And it's those many flaws and imperfections that bring the USA to where it is this week - a nation where a popular majority of those who choose to vote have elected as President a man whose track record would disqualify him from perhaps every other leadership position in public and corporate life.

Trump as 47th President is a deep concern. The enablers, grifters, hangers-on even more so. The artificial construct of "presidential immunity" is something that must - in what ever way possible - be dismantled, else the White House becomes, by definition, a hotbed of Organised Crime.

The best we can hope for at this time is that a compulsive liar has been lying about many of his darkest campaign promises. But that is hope rather than expectation.
